Installation of new jumbotron underway at Bridgestone Arena

July 23, 2019 by Piros Signs

Mitsubishi & Piros team up to bring a bigger & better experience to town

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Good Morning Nashville got an up close look at the new jumbotron being installed in Bridgestone Arena.

The project has been in the works for a few years and the new jumbotron is poised to be even bigger and better.

The new jumbotron will be about three times bigger than the old one, but it won’t be the biggest one ever and the Preds say that’s by design.

“We looked at this not from a perspective of we have to do the biggest scoreboard or we have to be the reigning champion of how big our scoreboard is. We really looked at the space in our building and said ‘what suits the room, what do we think is right?’ We have a unique building, we have a unique fan experience. We are Smashville and we are unapologetic for that,” said Senior Director of Technical Operations Ben Bosse.

The jumbotron will feature screens on the bottom of the structure, for the benefit of those sitting in the lower bowl.

“It will be totally different. It will be a totally different experience coming to watch a game at Bridgestone, based on the upgrades we did last year in the control room,” added Bosse.

The Preds expect to debut the jumbotron at the season opener on Oct. 3 but they will hold an event for fans to experience the new addition before that.

One challenge the plan has faced is working around Bridgestone’s busy summer concert schedule as other city’s arenas go quiet for months at a time.

Piros Signs is proud to be a part of the Texas Live! project in Texas. Our main hand in the project is installing a large number of Pylon Towers. The towers will have signage from top to bottom and large video boards for viewing pleasure. Texas Live! will be a unique mixed-use entertainment district situated southwest of Globe Life Park in Arlington and adjacent to Globe Life Field. The first phase of the project, set to open in 2018, will feature best-in-class restaurants, retail and entertainment venues, along with a signature event space for up to 5,000 people. A 300-room upscale hotel with 35,000-square-feet of convention space is also expected to open later in 2018.

Summer Kicks off with Year Long Project

We are teaming up again with long time partner, Daktronics, in a new project that just recently kicked off. The 360 degree video board located in the roof opening is the first of its kind – a true game changer. At nearly five-stories (58 ft.) tall and eleven hundred linear feet in diameter, the new stadium’s 360-degree HD video halo board will not only be the largest video board in the NFL, but in the world. Every seat holder experiencing a game or stadium event live will enjoy unique camera views and exclusive digital content that promises to enhance the in-seat experience on event days. The board hangs from the circumference of the roof opening, allowing use with the roof open or closed. Check out this video and as well as a few pictures of the construction process.

October 13, 2015 by Piros Signs

Piros Signs is nearing completion on the installation of the signs for Gander Mountain at it’s newest Chesterfield location. The newest Gander Mountain will be located in a new 60,000-square-foot store in the Chesterfield Blue Valley development, just south of St. Louis Premium Outlets, off I-64/US 40 at exit 14. It will be the second Gander Mountain location in Missouri, and the third in metro St. Louis, joining an existing store in Fenton and a new store in O’Fallon, IL, which opened in late May. Now, before heading off to hike in the Ozarks, fish on the Mississippi or hunt deer in Macon County this fall, outdoors enthusiasts in metro St. Louis will have a new opportunity to find the widest selection, expert service and great prices on the best names in gear and apparel.
